Jason Smith joined Sopris Capital in 2015 and is a Partner. For the past 7 years, Mr. Smith has assisted Sopris in a variety of direct investment roles across diversified stages and industries. His work includes identifying new potential investment opportunities, orchestrating due diligence activities, and providing strategic support to portfolio company executives.

Prior to Sopris Capital, Mr. Smith was an industry agnostic investment professional at Morehead Capital, investing growth equity into technology and consumer companies.

Mr. Smith received a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and graduated with academic honors from North Carolina State University. Outside of the office, Mr. Smith is actively involved in healthcare-related causes. He currently sits on the Associate Board of the Cancer Research Institute and is a Special Advisor to the Health Innovators Fellowship at the Aspen Institute.

Originally from North Carolina, Mr. Smith currently resides with his family in Charleston, SC.
